We didn’t really do much on Christmas Eve…just hung around the house, made food and then ate it all day long.  But we were definitely in the Christmas mood with all the wonderful decorations my parents set up.  Here is a little house tour of Christmas decorations…

First we have the outside…My mom added all the wreaths on each window this year and I think they look simply lovely.

Inside we have the big tree…

The train tree (each ornament is a train)…

The gum drop tree…

And these festive branches…

The table ready for us to eat yummy food!

And since we all wanted to enjoy a nice meal we decided to feed Owen ahead of time so we could eat the proper Christmas Eve dinner after he went to bed.  :)

More food and more decorations…

This year we started a new Christmas Eve tradition.  It is called the “all-toddlers-strip-down-to-your-diaper-and-run-around-the-kitchen-island” game.  Owen was pretty good at it.  He seriously circled around it no less than 50 times!

After Owen wore himself out we finally sat down and enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner.

It’s almost a month after Christmas so what better time to share an update than now.  :)

This Christmas we did something that we haven’t done in almost five years…we woke up at my parent’s house on Christmas morning!  The past several Christmas’, for one reason or another, we’ve been with Lucas’ parents on Christmas day.  This year we switched things up and headed to my parents first.  We arrived in West Plains a few days before Christmas and enjoyed spending lots of time together.

My dad was eager to show off the train display he built at the bank as a fundraiser for the Habitat for Humanity chapter he directs.  He pretty much put this whole thing together in a weekend!

Owen was pretty enthralled!  Which in turn made my dad super happy and excited.  :)

We enjoyed several afternoons playing on the driveway since the weather was sometimes warm enough to venture outside.

I like to picture Owen as Buddy the Elf when he is spotted in Central Park.

After all the fun outside it was time to head inside and see some more trains!  This time we saw the layout in my parent’s basement.  Again, Owen was super excited!

And a few shots of all the memorabilia.

Other than trains and playing we ate lots of yummy food, played games, watched movies and just enjoyed each others company.  That’s a pretty good Christmas vacation if you ask me!
