There really are no words for this post.  I simply snapped some pics the other night while Owen was having the time of his life with a sucker and the phone.  Oh and his shirt says, “Que enredo!  Feliz Navidad!”  He wore it for our “family” Christmas dinner before Estephanie headed home for Christmas.  It means something like “that entanglement” or “what a tangle!” since the lights on his shirt are all tangled up.  :)

Merry Christmas from Owen!

We’ve been telling Owen that Santa is coming tonight so he’s been looking everywhere for him.  I think Owen and Paca are on to something with the tree…

Here’s to finding all that you wish for this Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Last week we were invited to a playgroup for the morning.  That seems ordinary enough.  But this was no ordinary playgroup day…on this day Santa was coming!  The grandfather of some of the kids there dressed up as Santa and came to pay us all a visit!  What was extra special was that at first the grandpa was just down there with us dressed normally and he learned each child’s name.  So when he came down as Santa he called each child by their name!  I just thought that was super awesome!  Owen was oblivious but I was excited.  :)

As Santa came down the stairs Owen made a beeline to me…

Santa made his way to a chair and began talking with the children.  Owen continued to play and pay him no attention.  (Owen is way back in the doorway)  :)

Finally he worked up his nerve to get closer to Santa…

And when Santa offered him a treat, he was hooked…

Santa went in for a hug…

But Owen was only good for a low-five…

And really I think he just wanted some candy…

Before the semester ended we invited students over to our house for our 2nd Annual Christmas Party!  I spent the week preparing the food and the house for the big event and we were so happy to have around 40+ students in our house.  We all enjoyed the food…

And then we packing into the living room for Christmas Jeopardy!

Lucas played Alex Trebek and no one went home empty-handed.  I had lots of prizes to choose from and most people seemed happy with the outcome.

It was a great evening and a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas together!

Lucas and I both love to have a real Christmas tree in our home.  Luckily we live close to a Christmas tree farm so we made our 2nd annual trip to find and cut our own tree.  First we loaded up on the wagon…

Then we made the treacherous journey to the fields.  Owen was a little scared…

On the search for the perfect tree!

Estephania helped Owen out…

Finally we found the perfect one and Lucas started sawing it down…

Timber!

We had to get a quick family picture…

And then it was time to load it up.  Owen tried to “help”…

I thought I’d snap a pic of my two boys but they aren’t the most photogenic ones in the bunch.  :)

Oh well…  We made it home and put the tree up!

We think it’s our best tree ever!

It had been almost a year since we saw our friends, the Smiths (Spencer, Abby, Grace and their newest little one, Eve).  Lucas had a trip to southwest Missouri and we convinced the Smiths to drive up from Tulsa so we’d all meet in the middle!  We actually ended up crashing at Spencer’s parent’s house in Joplin which made our time together wonderful.  We could put kids down for naps when needed but still spend time together.  It was so good to see them and to finally meet the little addition to their family.  Grace was happy to show off her little sister…

And with Owen and Grace being only 3 months apart, we had plenty to keep us busy.  There was bath time…yes, I know my son is holding a razor…it was quickly removed from his hand.  :)

We were too busy chasing the two toddlers around to take many pictures, but we managed to snap a few outside as we were loading up the car.

Owen kind of started getting upset at the end of the photoshoot and I guess it’s because we had him perilously perched on the rock…

Oh wait…no we didn’t!  The two inch drop to the ground was just a little too much for him.

Back to happy!

It’s been almost two months since we saw them hence the fall tree but I’m still so glad we were able to work in some time with close friends!

Bought refurbished online and it was Lucas’ idea!  All I know is I love my new baby…

Recently we were able to spend an evening enjoying Messy Night!  It was put on by our local Parents As Teachers association and a child development class from CMU.  Owen loved the evening and we even ran into a few friends.

The evening began by walking around with paint on his feet.  At first he wasn’t too sure about it because it was a little slippery, but after awhile he got the hang of it.

He even ran into his friend Allyson from the PAT Playcenter!

Next it was off to the colored whipped cream finger painting station.

First he hammed it up for the lady taking pictures.  (I wonder where he gets that from)

And then it was back to business once he realized the whipped cream was pretty good.

He enjoyed the other stations but we were too busy to take pictures.  I love that we have events like this to enjoy even in our small town.
