This past Sunday we spent the day fly-fishing. We drove up to Montauk State Park and started the day with a picnic…

…and then spent the afternoon fly-fishing. First we had to get all our stuff ready to go…

Lucas and I got this fly box for a my dad a couple years ago. It has a wonderful quote for the book A River Runs Through It on the cover…

I also found some of my old stuff…notice the name and town…

My dad getting ready to go…

Lucas all ready to go…

My stuff…

It felt so good to fly-fish again…especially since I haven’t been in over 3 years…

By the day’s end I caught two trout…a rainbow and a brown…here I am with one of them, but don’t worry…I let them both go…

My dad also caught several fish…here he is landing one…

Throughout the day I also met some little friends…

And this little guy traveled in my camera bag all the way from the river back to the picnic area. His name is Herman…

It was a great day…

I love how outdoorsy you are! I own Chaco’s and Keen’s but that is about the extent of my outdoorsiness. I always get jealous when I see pictures of you because I wish I were more like that!
I love your pictures :).
I got a Canon Powershot G9. I really like it because its still pretty portable and the price was much better than the super nice cameras. Its still a very quality camera, but I just am not a good enough photographer to warrant a super expensive camera. Maybe one day when I use a function other than “auto” LOL

I am not sure if I knew that you were a fly fisher. That is so cool. Great pics, looks like it was a great day. I especially like your matching shirt and drink (what are those drinks called again?–squeeze its?). :)
